Who needs a big fat career anyway? I used to feel guilty that I wasn't like the women on the cover of Working Woman and such-like magazines, and even more guilty that I didn't really want to be like them and do the things that would get me on the cover.
Can I be a 50-something slacker? If I'm not a success, do I have to be a failure?
I want the same kind of career as your cat (I don't own oe--well, one doesn't own me). Career highlights: nap all day long off and on, if you butt your head on somebody's ankle; chances are they'll pick you up and pet you; if you scratch somebody they mostly think it's their fault.
And then, there's hairballs! Yessirree, a cat's career for me!
Ooh, yes, a cat's career. All your flaws become lovable quirks. Someone else cleans up all your poop. Loll around and show off your big fat stomach and everyone thinks it's darling.
